On Saturday, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, the governor of Hail, opened the Excellence Center for Salmon Production in Saudi Arabia. This is the biggest salmon production center in the Middle East, covering 10,000 square meters.
The center is a joint project with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and King Abdulaziz University. It will help Saudi Arabia produce 100,000 tons of salmon every year, reducing the need to import salmon, which is currently 23,000 tons per year.
The center uses the latest technology to raise fish and grow vegetables together.
Prince Abdulaziz called the center an important step for Vision 2030. It will create jobs, encourage new ideas, and show how to grow fish in a safe and smart way.
